LOS ANGELES — A 22-year-old Latin musician was fatally shot in what authorities described as an ambush-style attack early Saturday morning in the San Fernando Valley, leaving two others critically wounded, according to local media reports.
Maria De La Rosa died at a local hospital after being shot while sitting in a parked vehicle in Northridge, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The shooting occurred just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, police said in a statement issued Monday morning.
Witnesses described seeing two men approach the vehicle at around 1:25 a.m. Saturday, according to LAPD officials. Multiple rounds were fired at the vehicle, striking all three occupants, authorities said.
