LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Community members flooded the Fayette County School Board’s monthly action meeting Monday night, voicing their concerns during public comment.

Protesters gathered outside the Fayette County Public Schools administration building Monday evening ahead of the school board’s meeting.
The group chanted “save the stables” and called on the district to preserve its alternative school program at the Kentucky Horse Park. The district’s new facility assessment committee could recommend the board cut the program to save money.
“Rather than cutting back on their own expenditures for themselves, like extensive travel, they’re now trying to cut from the most underprivileged in our communities,” said Laura Webb, who lives in Lexington.
