OWENSBORO, KY. (WFIE) - We’re down to just two teams now, in the high school football playoffs -- Owensboro Catholic and Owensboro.

Tonight, a look at the Red Devils, who hammered Louisville Fairdale, 41-7, in the class 5A quarterfinals, last Friday, to advance to the state semifinals.

They did so, largely in part, because senior tailback Evan Hampton had a record-setting performance, rushing for 326 yards, with five touchdowns! Hampton broke the OHS single-game rushing mark, once held, by legendary Devil, Mark Higgs.

The Devils now prepare for their class 5A semifinal matchup, against Woodford County. OHS has made it to the final four, many times, over the last couple decades, but luck hasn’t always been on their side.
