SHREVEPORT, La . — Shreveport police on Thursday said two of the three people killed in the Clyde Fant Parkway shooting were innocent bystanders, including an Uber driver who was working when he was shot. Investigators said Frederick Kiprono was picking up and dropping off passengers when he was caught in crossfire. “All he was doing was his job, picking people up, taking people where they need to go in town, and he gets caught in a gun battle,” Cpl. Chris Bordelon said. Kiprono’s brother, William Songock, said the family is struggling with the sudden loss. “The reality doesn’t hit home until it’s your relative,” Songock said. “It’s one thing if you die in a road accident — we can get that — but from gun violence? I don’t know. I think something needs to be done.
