A Long Branch man was arrested earlier this month after he was accused of sexually assaulting a boy and girl multiple times over the course of four years, authorities said.

Raul F. Lopez, also known as Lee Escobar, 45, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office announced Monday.

Detectives from the Long Branch Police Department learned that Lopez sexually assaulted a girl who was under the age of 13 between 2020 and 2023 on numerous occasions, the office said in a statement.

They also discovered that he sexually assaulted the boy, who was under the age of 16, several times in 2023, investigators said.
