All the cars being axed from the Motability Scheme undera Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) rule change have been revealed. Motability is a scheme for people on Personal Independence Payment, or PIP, to get cars at cheaper prices.

Luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes will be removed as options, alongside the likes of Audi, Lexus, and Alfa Romeo, "immediately".

The Labour Party chancellor, Rachel Reeves, said the changes to the scheme would “support thousands of well-paid, skilled jobs”, before the budget on Wednesday. Motability said it hopes that 50% of the vehicles it offers will come from British factories by 2035.
