As Michigan braces for a mid-week snow storm that could drop more than 3 feet in some UP locations, many people are preparing to shovel a lot of snow — but there are safety tips to keep in mind to avoid accidents or health issues.
The state is expected to get lake effect snowfall along the Great Lakes and snow across Michigan Nov. 26-27, according to the National Weather Service . Part of the western Upper Peninsula could see more than 3 feet of snow. Some predictions call for as much as 46 inches between Ironwood and Houghton.
Parts of the northern Lower Peninsula could get up to a foot of snow in typical lake-effect areas while the southern and eastern areas of the state likely will only get a few inches.
