SUFFOLK, Va. — A pedestrian was hospitalized Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle in Suffolk, according to police.

The incident happened around 7:13 p.m., when officers were called to the 6000 block of Bradford Drive for a reported auto–pedestrian crash. When first responders arrived, they found an injured pedestrian who was transported to a local hospital. Police say the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

According to investigators, the driver involved in the collision initially left the scene, prompting a search by officers. The suspect was later located and taken into custody.

Police identified the driver as Issa Adel Sameer Tawil, who now faces charges including Driving Under Suspension and Victim Injured – Driver Fails to Stop, Report or Assist.
