A man found dead at a Nottinghamshire farm has been identified as Charles Wright, the son of an 82-year-old pensioner, Brian Wright, who is currently missing. Nottinghamshire Police have launched a homicide investigation following the disappearance of Brian Wright, reported missing from his home in Langford, near Newark, on 20 November. On Saturday, officers discovered the body of the 52-year-old Charles Wright in an outbuilding on a farm. Authorities believe his death is connected to the ongoing investigation into his father's disappearance. Charles was the eldest of Brian's three sons and resided in the nearby village of Winthorpe. A lifelong friend of Brian Wright confirmed that he had three sons, including Charles. Local residents expressed their shock, with one stating, "I knew of Brian but I didn't really know him. We always see [another son] running through the village." Brian Wright lived at Hall Farm, a property managed by his family for generations. He was known in the community for his long service as a churchwarden at St Bartholomew's Church in Langford and his role on the Winthorpe with Langford Parish Council. In a recent update, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that search teams have been deployed to Langford as part of the investigation into Brian Wright's whereabouts. Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow stated, "First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of those affected by this tragic incident. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding this death is ongoing." Burrow reassured the community, saying, "At this early stage, we believe all parties to be known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public." She also urged the public to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time, noting that they are being supported by specially trained officers.
