ELKINS, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Police (WVSP) will conduct two sobriety checkpoints in Randolph County in December, according to a press release issued Tuesday by 1st Sgt. J.R. Wince, District Commander for Troop 3 / District 1.
The checkpoints are scheduled for Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, and Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025. Both operations will begin at 6 p.m.
The sobriety checkpoint location will be on West Virginia Route 92, specifically in the 1900 block of Harrison Avenue, in the Crystal Springs area.
The primary intent of the checkpoints is to detect and deter impaired drivers, a statement from 1st Sgt. Wince noted. He added that the checkpoints are intended to make the highways safer for those traveling in West Virginia.
