ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park in Hershey is mourning the death of one of its animals.

Murphy, a cinnamon black bear, recently died from complications related to major gastrointestinal issues.

“The absence of our special bear has left a hole in our hearts. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by our team and everyone who witnessed his exceptional personality and gentle spirit,” ZooAmerica shared in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The zoo said after all veterinary options were exhausted, they made the difficult decision to euthanize Murphy, despite extensive treatment efforts.
