OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Police Department has found the cause of a fire in a metro home’s garage Monday afternoon.
At about 12:30 p.m. Monday, a caller reported an active fire at a house near 164th and Virginia streets.
When crews got to the scene, they saw heavy smoke from the garage of a two-story house. It looked as if the garage door was “bowed outward from a possible explosion,” a release reads.
As firefighters were fighting the fire, they discovered that it was coming from an office space that was built inside the garage.
"The fire was confined to the garage office, with light smoke damage extending into the main portion of the house," the release states.
