HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) - Members of the Hutchinson Fire Department took quick, lifesaving action Sunday night, pulling an unconscious person from a building the department described as being in an “extreme carbon monoxide environment.”
A little before 11 p.m. Sunday, crews responded to the call reporting an unconscious person in the 1200 East 30th.
“While enroute, dispatch advised that the circumstances were unknown but could be a gas or chemical issue,” the Hutchinson Fire Department said.
Upon arrival, fire crews found two people on a side of the building and learned that another person was inside and that he was unconscious.
When they entered the building, firefighters’ “CO and 4 gas monitors went into alarm,” the fire department said.
