Lidl has unveiled a controversial advent calendar which could divide opinions.

The supermarket is smashing through convention by releasing a "Day 1" chocolate advent calendar, perfect for those who usually devour their whole calendar in one sitting.

Lidl's advent calendar has one large door, instead of 24 that would have sat all across the front of the product.

Cleverly, Lidl has still kept the 24-day advent calendar theme, regardless of the fact there are no little doors, as the 100g bar of milk chocolate you find at the centre of the calendar has 24 squares.
