EUGENE, Ore. - The Giving Machines have made a return to the Valley River Center Mall, offering a unique opportunity for community members to support local nonprofits.
For three weeks, these machines will allow people to purchase items like fresh produce, oral health kits, a week of diapers, or utility assistance. Last year, the machines raised more than $60,000, and they are already off to a promising start this year.
"It's just a really nice event that we have to support our community locally. It basically just shows how much Valley River Center loves being a cornerstone to this community," said Heather Decker, marketing manager at Valley River Center.
Every dollar donated goes to nonprofits in Lane, Benton, Linn, and Douglas counties.
