On Tuesday at 1:04 p.m. the National Weather Service released a lake effect snow warning valid from Thursday 1 a.m. until Saturday 1 a.m. for Warren and McKean counties.
The weather service describes, "Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches with locally higher amounts possible. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph."
"Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes," adds the weather service. "If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1."
