LINCOLN, Neb. —

A northwest Iowa boy will be honored by the University of Iowa during this year's Heroes Game against the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Cornhuskers

Jayce Koob, 12, is a sixth-grade student at MOC-Floyd Valley. In September, Koob woke up in the middle of the night to heavy smoke and alarms going off. He managed to get out of the house and run almost a mile to alert neighbors in rural Sioux County to call for help. The fire claimed the lives of three other teenagers.
