WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - The Salvation Army in Watertown is getting a boost just in time for the holidays.

The Northern New York Community Foundation donated $19,000 to the organization.

$15,000 will go to replacing the Salvation Army’s delivery van. Salvation Army Captain Josh Morales says the impact is huge.

“If we needed to purchase this big van on our own, something’s got to give, right? Whether that be, God forbid, it would be our food pantry or our soup kitchen or our -something would have to give,” said Captain Josh Morales, Salvation Army.

The other $4,000 will be used to cover food supplies for the organization’s Thanksgiving dinner.
