KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A former recording financial secretary for a local railroad workers’ union admitted to embezzling $55,000 from the organization.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri announced on Tuesday, Nov. 25, that David L. Scofield, 65, pleaded guilty to embezzlement on Monday.

Prosecutors noted that he served as the recording financial secretary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen for nearly 20 years.

Court documents indicated that Scofield faces six federal charges:

Four counts of bank fraud

Embezzlement of labor union funds

Falsifying annual financial reports of a labor union

The Office said Scofield waived his grand jury rights before U.S.
