SAVANNAH, Mo. (KCTV) - A former Savannah School District accountant has been sentenced in federal court for embezzling funds.
Forty-four-year-old Anthony Moon, the former accountant for the Savannah School District, also worked as the owner and president of Parker and Associates LLC, a tax prep and bookkeeping service company, according to court documents.
Moon was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison without parole.
Court documents allege Moon embezzled funds from the district beginning in January 2023 and continued doing so through Nov. 21, 2023. The accountant used his position in the district to write unauthorized checks to himself and his business from the district’s checking account.
