KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - A police chase turned severe when a De Soto woman’s car flipped during a high-speed pursuit in Kansas City.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says that just after 12:10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, Megan Vasquez, 36, lost control of her Pontiac Grand Prix on Parallel Pkwy. near 96th St.
State Troopers indicated that her car spun across the westbound lanes of traffic before it struck a power pole, an embankment and then flipped.
Investigators noted that Vasquez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. She was taken to the University of Kansas Medical Cente r with critical injuries.
State Troopers confirmed the crash was a result of a pursuit when Vasquez lost control. The car became unstable, spun counterclockwise and slid off the roadway.
