A Morristown police officer pleaded guilty last week to a drunken driving charge connected to a single-vehicle crash in May when she was off duty, records show.
Laura V. Starnes’ sentence includes the use of a vehicle ignition locking device for three months, 12 hours of attendance at an intoxicated driver resource center and $640 in fines, municipal court records show. A careless driving charge was dismissed.
The case was heard in Denville’s municipal court on Nov. 20. Her listed attorney did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
Starnes’ status with the police department was not clear Tuesday, as Morristown officials also did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
Starnes, 23, of Glen Gardner, crashed her car on Morris Street by Olyphant Place in Morristown
