A for-hire driver is fighting for his life after he was seriously injured in a stabbing in the Bronx early Wednesday, police said.
NYPD officials said they received a 911 call about an assault near Randall Avenue and White Plains Road in Clason Point around 2:30 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 39-year-old driver unconscious with stab wounds to his back and lower abdomen.
First responders took him to Jacobi Hospital, where he was in critical condition, officials said. He was driving a Toyota with New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission plates, according to police.
Officials said they are investigating a possible motive and looking for potential witnesses to help them find whoever is responsible for the stabbing.
