ITHACA, N.Y. (WBNG) — A former Cornell student was convicted on Monday following a multi-day jury trial in Tompkins County Court, according to information from the Tompkins County District Attorney’s Office.
Bilguun Enkhbayar, 22, a former Cornell University student, was found guilty on Monday, Nov. 24, on the charge of rape in the first degree and burglary in the second degree.
The trial found that Enkhbayar went into the dorm room of the victim without permission and raped the victim, who was incapable of consent due to being physically helpless.
Enkbayar faces up to 25 years in state prison; his sentencing is scheduled for February 24, 2026.
