PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) - Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer toured Plattsburgh’s new school bus factory Tuesday, visiting the site he helped preserve for manufacturing.

When Novabus announced its factory closure last year, the New York Democrat connected with company executives, urging them to sell the facility to preserve the North Country’s transportation manufacturing industry.

That led to Micro Bird’s announcement that it would invest $38 million to bring new manufacturing to the site, creating hundreds of local manufacturing jobs.
