COOPERSVILLE, Mich. — A teen is in the hospital with serious injuries after a car struck her in the crosswalk on Wednesday morning.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said the car vs. pedestrian crash happened just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of W. Randall Street and Pin Oak Drive in Coopersville.
Deputies said an 87-year-old Coopersville man was driving a Dodge Dart westbound on West Randall when he struck a 15-year-old Coopersville girl within the crosswalk.
Investigators said the teen was in the crosswalk with the lights flashing to alert traffic to stop when she was struck.
First responders took her to a Grand Rapids area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver wasn't hurt.
