CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 52-year-old man died Tuesday after a fire broke out at a home in Cleveland’s Stockyard neighborhood.

Fire crews responded to reports of a burning home in the 3400 block of West 60th Street, north of Denison Avenue, just before 2 p.m.

The fire started in an upstairs stairway, according to Lt. Mike Norman, a spokesman for Cleveland’s fire department. Crews found the man on the second floor of the home.

Paramedics transported him to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later died.

The American Red Cross arrived at the scene to assist three adults. It’s unclear whether they were inside the home when the fire started.

The Cuyahoga County medical examiner’s office has not released the man’s identity.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and remains under invest
