Parents have been urged to make full use of the HMRC money

Rachel Reeves has announced that the government is going to scrap the two-child benefit cap from April 2026. Previously, parents could only claim the child element of Universal Credit or Child Tax Credit for their first two children.

This new announcement means that families are entitled to claim for all of their children, meaning they will be £292.81 per month better off per additional child. Antonia Medlicott, Founder and Managing Director of Investing Insiders, said parents can make that money go further and even secure £30,000 for each child.
