Campaigning against child poverty and the removal of the two-child benefit limit was never about a quick win.

When we launched the campaign in April, alongside 23 leading anti-poverty charities, we knew it would be a tough ask and one that would come with controversy and criticism.

But the two-child benefit cap was removed in the UK budget after eight years. Hundreds of thousands of children were pushed into poverty by the policy, which restricted the child element of Universal Credit to the first two children in a household.
