MADISON (WKOW) — Inmates at the Dane County Jail recently completed an online program offered by Cornell University.
This marks the first time the "Frontline Skills" class, which focuses on teaching workplace skills, was offered in a correctional facility.
"If you can correct yourself now, then you probably won't have to go through this again," said Beau Nelson, an graduate of the program and an inmate at Dane County Jail.
Nelson said receiving feedback was the most transformative part of the class for him.
"Receiving feedback, kind of like, teaches you how to take it in a less painful way, to look at it like they're trying to help you. They're not trying to criticize you," said Nelson.
