The earthquake Thanksgiving morning registered as a 6.0 according to the Alaska Earthquake Center . The quake was felt by many, including Heidi Ostby. She and her family were getting ready for the Turkey Trot when the quake hit. Luckily, they were fine.
“We had no damage. The chandelier was shaking, and we all felt it, but then it was over, and we were all good,” she said.
“I was sleeping, and it shook me a bunch, but then I went back to bed. I thought my brother was waking me up,” said Heidi's daughter, Samantha.
Heidi Zufelt and her friend Sarah Johnson were also getting ready for the Turkey Trot when they felt it.
“I was awake but still in bed, and suddenly the bed started swaying,” Zufelt recalled.
