A man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate 95 has been arrested after police located him walking along a road.

According to a release from Maine State Police, 31-year-old Tyler Hewitt was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, after the Clinton Police Department received a report of a suspicious person on Hill Road. Investigators said that officers found Hewitt emerging from the woods near I-95.

Troopers said Hewitt had been driving with a suspended license when he was allegedly involved in a deadly crash on Tuesday in Clinton. 38-year-old John Perkins died in the crash. Police say Hewitt fled the scene before troopers arrived.
