GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The Breakfast Bar and local hip hop artist Jertaves Jenkins hosted their annual “Bless the Block” Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, serving nearly 200 community members in just a few hours.

The goal started out simple, according to restaurant owners Quinetta and Shelton Wilson.

“He wanted to have Thanksgiving at the restaurant, so everybody can get together,” Wilson said.

From there, it grew.

“Well, if you have it at the restaurant you know everybody is gonna come, so we might as well feed the community,” Wilson said.

A meal hosted at The Breakfast Bar Greenville had become a tradition. Hip hop artist Jertaves Jenkins helped organize it. He calls it “Bless the Block.”
