While much has been written about the Legault government’s health care reform, one aspect of Bill 2 that has been largely overlooked is how it negatively and disproportionately affects female doctors.
While men are increasingly taking on a more active parenting role, women remain the ones who experience pregnancy and child-bearing. Fundamental differences in gender roles and caring styles affect both the work of female physicians and the choices they must make.
