Robin van Persie handed son Shaqueel his senior debut in Feyenoord’s 3-1 Europa League defeat to Celtic.

However, the Feyenoord boss has already faced questions as to his motives for introducing his son in the second half of Thursday’s clash.

Shaqueel was called up to the first-team squad for a senior match for the first time in last Sunday’s 4-2 defeat to NEC Nijmegen, but was an unused substitute.
