Simon Jordan has shut down the notion that Liverpool are in the midst of a crisis.

Arne Slot’s side were brushed aside 4-1 by Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday leaving the Reds 13th in the Champions League table.

That defeat followed Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield, a result that saw the reigning Premier League champions slumped in 11th place in the league.

The loss to PSV was their ninth in 12 games, the club’s worst run since their relegation season of 1953/54.

Pressure is mounting on Slot who was handed a £450million war chest to bolster his squad in the summer.

However, the Reds appear to have taken backwards strides this season with disgruntled fans resorting to booing the team after the final whistle on Wednesday.
