ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- A shooting left a man dead Thursday night in Rocky Mount.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Sunset Avenue.

Responding officers found man with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

This is active investigation, Rocky Mount police say. More information will be released when available.
