BUTLER COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) - One person is injured after a shooting in Butler County on Thursday.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office received a call that a man was shooting into a home near the intersection of C13 and Franklin Avenue around 9:10 a.m. Deputies were told multiple people were inside the house.
Once authorities arrived on scene, an Iowa State Patrol Trooper found a man with a gun who matched the description given to deputies. Both the man and trooper exchanged gunfire with one another before the man ran into a house nearby.
A tactical team arrived to help secure the area and safely rescue everyone trapped inside. After speaking with a negotiator, the man surrendered to authorities.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment after being shot multiple times. He is expected t
