STATEN ISLAND, NY. — St. Vincent’s Hospital, which was founded by the Sisters of Charity, opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1903 at the intersection of Bard and Castleton avenues in West Brighton.
The hospital now operates on the same campus as Richmond University Medical Center after being renamed in a 2006 sale.
Richmond University is a nonprofit healthcare and teaching institution with more than 440 beds. It is affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Mount Sinai Health System.
Richmond University features a Level I Adult Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, along with expanded facilities.
