New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd was re-hospitalized for treatment of a gunshot wound, ABC News reports.

Boyd, 29, was previously released from Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan earlier this month, but announced that he'd returned on Wednesday (November 26) due to "health issues" in a post shared on his Instagram Story.

"Please bare [sic] with me, I haven't been in communication much," Boyd wrote via ABC News . "I was released but had to return to the hospital due to my health issues."

The cornerback thanked his followers for the support, however, the nature of his hospitalization was unclear. Boyd was with Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood and wide receiver Irvin Charles at Sei Less Asian Fusion nightclub on November 16 when a group made comments about their fancy clothes,
