WASHINGTON — Charges against the suspect in the Washington terrorist attack that targeted two members of the West Virginia National Guard have been upgraded, according to U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro.
Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national, will be charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of Webster Springs.
“There are certainly many more charges to come, but we are upgrading the initial charges of assault to murder in the first degree,” Pirro said Friday on Fox News.
