A 21-year-old man has been identified after he was killed in a crash where a vehicle struck a utility pole in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, authorities announced on Friday, Nov. 28.
Andy I. Uruchima Lema, 21, of Allentown, was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem at 10:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
He had been riding in the front passenger seat when the vehicle crashed in the area of the 1800 block of Flint Hill Road at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, investigators said.
An autopsy was completed Friday at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center. The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Upper Saucon Township Police Department, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are jointly investigating the crash.
Community Support
Andy’s family said they are going through an extremely difficult time and are asking the community for support as they prepare his funeral services. “Any donation—big or small—is deeply appreciated,” they shared, adding that they hope to give Andy “the beautiful service he deserves.”
A GoFundMe has been launched, and the family is also accepting direct donations. Those who prefer to donate through Zelle, Cash App, or Apple Pay may send contributions to his brother, Elvin Uruchima, at (484) 280-5297, or to Silvia Lema at (484) 428-8617.
“Thank you for your prayers, kindness, and support during this difficult time,” the family wrote.
Obituary Details
According to an obituary shared by K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Andy Ivan Uruchima, 21, passed away unexpectedly at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill from injuries sustained in the crash.
Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of Angel L. Uruchima and Silvia J. Lema Zumba. He lived in Allentown with his family. Andy graduated from William Allen High School in 2023 and attended Northampton Community College in Bethlehem. He worked as a chef for Sodexo at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest for the past seven months.
He attended Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Allentown. His family said he loved soccer, enjoyed being in nature, and liked trying new foods. He was outgoing and had many friends who adored him.
Andy is survived by his parents; his girlfriend, Doraliz Lugo; siblings Jeily Uruchima, Eliana Garcia, Estefany Uruchima, and Elvin Uruchima; grandparents Maria Uruchima and Maria and Sergio Lema; his dog, Mia; and numerous extended relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30 at K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna Street, Allentown. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1 at Sacred Heart Church, 336 N. 4th Street, Allentown. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
