SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - A coyote that appeared on a hotel ledge on Tuesday drew a crowd of about two dozen people before the animal escaped on its own.
Fort Myers police, firefighters, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission attempted to capture the coyote at the Luminary Hotel. The animal had somehow made its way into the garage before appearing on the building’s ledge.
“We’ve had bears and trees and stuff like that, but never a coyote on the side of a building,” said one observer.
Green sea turtle no longer endangered
William Humes, who was staying at the hotel with his family, said he wondered how the animal reached the ledge and what authorities would do to save it.
“So we turned, and we looked, and we were in amazement, as a matter of fact,” Humes said.
