The National Weather Service issued a snow squall warning at 1:59 p.m. on Friday in effect until 2:45 p.m. for Blair and Huntingdon counties.
"At 1:59 p.m., a dangerous snow squall was located over Bald Eagle, moving southeast at 35 mph," says the weather service. "This includes Interstate 99 from mile markers 49 to 55."
Locations impacted by the warning include Tyrone, Bald Eagle, Warriors Mark and Franklinville.
"Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes," describes the weather service. "Reduce speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions. Consider avoiding or delaying travel until the snow squall passes your location.
