A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Friday at 3:01 p.m. for lake effect snow until 4 p.m. for Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany and Rensselaer counties.

"At 2:59 p.m., a lake effect snow band was near Fonda moving east at 30 MPH," comments the weather service.

This includes the following highways: Interstate 88 between exits 22 and 25. Interstate 90 between exits 10 and 30. Interstate 890 between exits 1a and 9. Interstate 87 between exits 23 and 7, and between exits 8A and 12. Interstate 787 between exits 1 and 9.

Expect lake effect snow in the following locations:

Duanesburg around 3:20 p.m.

Schenectady and Rotterdam around 3:30 p.m.

Scotia around 3:35 p.m.

Niskayuna and East Glenville around 3:40 p.m.

Colonie around 3:45
