TOWN OF WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Black Friday deals brought customers to the Salmon Run Mall in the Town of Watertown Friday morning, though according to data, it’s not what it used to be.
According to Reuters national reporting, online shopping has diluted the significance of in-person purchases made on Black Friday. The report also found that many are spending less this year, with elevated prices, they say, due to tariffs.
That didn’t stop one couple from getting out of the house and scoring some deals.
“It’s more fun, and we spend more quality time together shopping out instead of just online,” said Breona Hall.
“And it’s a good way to learn the area because we’re new to the area. So, we wanted to see what they had out here as opposed to what we have at home,” said Ricsean Hall.
