PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Public Works crews are currently working to clear the roads from an estimated foot of snow falling on Saturday.

The department says around-the-clock operations began at 7:00 P.M. Friday with pretreating city streets, then shifting to plowing roads overnight.

Hills and overpasses were treated with brine while residential streets were pretreated with salt. The plowing started with plowing and salting main arterial routes, which Public Works says are the top priority throughout the winter storm.

Residential streets will be plowed after the snowfall has ended, and after at least two inches of snow has fallen and arterial streets have been cleared.
