COLUMBIA — This week, Dabo Swinney was asked to consider the difference between six and seven wins in Clemson’s bowl outlook.

And the Tigers’ head coach couldn’t resist a quip.

“6-7,” Swinney said, holding his hands out and moving them up and down as if he was juggling something.

The 55-year-old Alabamian added, “Yeah, I’m in the know” — because someone who spends most of their time with 18- to 23-year-old men knows meme culture. Even if the culture reference, just a statement of a tall person’s height , is of ambiguous meaning.

Swinney was even less certain of the difference between six and seven wins for Clemson’s postseason. The high-end bowls are out of Clemson’s range, but there’s an array of lesser postseason games that would love to have the Tigers.
