Saturday was a day for revenge for the Lost River football team.
With memories of a lopsided September loss still in their heads, the Raiders were able to battle to a 24-22 victory against previously unbeaten Heppner at Summit High School in the Class 2A state championship football game.
Lost River was able to figure out how to succeed against Heppner in a way no one else has this fall. The Mustangs have been scoring 52 points per game this fall while allowing just six.
This was the second game of the year for the two teams. Heppner won the first meeting 43-8.
