RAGLEY, La. (KPLC) - State police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of two people Friday afternoon.
The crash claimed the lives of 69-year-old Anne Godeaux and 65-year-old Leah Landry, both of Lake Charles, according to Louisiana State Police Troop D Public Affairs Trooper Roy Jones.
The two-vehicle crash happened just after 2 p.m. Friday on U.S. 171 at the intersection of Felice Cutoff Road in Beauregard Parish.
Investigators say a Ford F-350 was traveling north on U.S. 171 while Godeaux, who was driving a Ford Bronco, was traveling west on Felice Cutoff Road.
For unknown reasons, the Bronco failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by the F-350 on the driver’s side, Jones said.
Godeaux was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
